One of our newest quartets, HEARTSONG already has performed for luncheons, senior centers and churches, as well as delivering "Singing Valentines" throughout Madison each Feb. 14th.
Their special interest is in visiting area schools to introduce young people to barbershop harmony.
The quartet includes: Lowell Peck (tenor), Jim Svanoe (lead), Mike McCowin (bass) and Dave Hutchinson (baritone).
The group takes its name in honor of the group's first tenor, Robert "Whiz" Carlson. Whiz, a heart transplant recipient was a retired autoworker who died in 2003 after living about 10 years after his heart operation.
Jim is a retired schoolteacher, Mike is a retired banker, and Dave is a (just plain tired, he says) customer service representative for A to Z RentAll. All live in Madison. New member Lowell is a certified public accountant from Beaver Dam who also sings with the Sound Concensus quartet.

Their typical musical program ranges from inspirational and spiritual numbers to comedy and patriotic themes. But whatever they sing, they always sing, "Songs Sung From The Heart!"

To book the quartet, call Jim Svanoe at 231-1661.
